We launched the site 4 years ago and now have surf art outlets across the UK for our extensive Surf Art and Driftwood Gift collection
we are expanding rapidly, bringing original, unique and handmade driftwood products to you at affordable prices.
The Artist
All works on Surf-Art.co.uk are by UK artist and craftsperson
James Gardner.
James is a self-taught artist who splits his time between the Midlands
and West Wales. Having spent half his life surfing and sketching comic
book art for his own pleasure on the mid Wales coastline he found
himself land-locked near Birmingham.
Finding life without surf and sea increasingly frustrating he picked
up a paintbrush at the age of 23 and tried to remind himself of what
it feels like to be by the sea by painting a Surf scene for his Girlfriend's
birthday because the price tags of any in shops had far too many digits
on.
3 years on James has continued painting and is now producing exciting
works transposing the qualities of comics and pop art to the world
of the ocean, from surfers to harbours his paintings have been sold
across the UK and exhibited twice.
A recent entrant to the Royal Academy of Art's 'Summer Exhibition'
and with work in several UK galleries and Shops, James' bold and unusual
take on the Ocean takes Surf Art to a new and fresh level, evoking
in everyone the feeling of the sea, whether it be the post surf glow
or the sun setting behind the harbour wall.

How we work
Here at Surf-art.co.uk we have an obsession with the surf and the sea. But also we're obsessed with
offering art and driftwood gifts that are truly unique.
Having become frustrated with cheap surf gifts produced in China for 2p and sold for £10, we decided that
you and your homes deserved better. We commited ourselves to making sure that each painting, or gift is not only quality
but truly unique.
We do this by offering a completely bespoke service. Anything you see on the site can be adapted to your needs.
Want a painting with a VW Campervan on it, but want your own campers number plate? No problem, we'll paint that
on for you. Want a mirror a specific size, we'll make it for you.
All you have to do is find what you want submit an
enquiry and we'll be in touch and discuss what you want either via e-mail or in person.
Then once that is finalised and the order is placed we head into the studio and make it happen.
Pricing up the Frames
We've recently implemented a new pricing system on the mirrors. And it couldn't be simpler to work out.
Rather than give quote rough prices on the website we took on board customer feedback and are now charging all our bespoke driftwood mirrors/frames per inch.
If you take a look at the example below you will see that the mirror is 30" wide x 20" high.
In order to work out the price for a frame, you will need to check the Price per Inch which can be found on any of our mirror pages.
The above frame is a Curved Edges mirror which are charged at 70 pence per inch (£0.70). In order to calculate the price, simply add all four lengths of the mirror and then multiply by the price per inch (£0.70). See the equation below to help you work out your mirror costs.
Length + Length + Width + Width x Price Per Inch = Mirror Cost
So for the above Mirror you would do the sum below.
30 + 30 + 20 + 20 x 0.70 = £70
You will now be able to see that the above mirror would come in at £70 including Glass, fixture and fittings. Please be aware there will be an additional cost for delivery. If you have any queries regarding this pricing policy then please go to our contact page and get in touch with us.
Getting the goods
Not only do we like to offer you the best original handmade surf art and driftwood gifts
but we try to make you getting hold of them as painless as possible.
We do this by offering two payment types. You can pay by Paypal or personal cheque. We regret
that we are currently unable to accept payment by credit/debit card and are looking to change that
in the near future. With some larger gifts and paintings a deposit of roughly 10% is required.
When you order a product you will be informed how long it will take us to make the item and given a
probable despatch date. As all the items take different amounts of times to complete these can vary but
are rarely over 7 days.
Once your order is completed, you will be informed and given a definite despatch date. We will then wrap your item
up so it's safe for transit and post your items via Royal Mail Parcel Force or courier if the item is larger.
When you get your item, if you don't like it, or it wasn't what you wanted then just get in touch with us and provided
you send it back to us, we will give you a full refund.
